Event Cinemas - Tauranga

Event Cinemas Tauranga Crossing is the largest cinema complex in the Bay of Plenty, comprising six cinemas, an arcade games area, and hospitality bar spaces, delivered as an integrated base build and specialist fit-out project.

The development includes a premium Vmax auditorium with a 24-metre-wide screen and Dolby Atmos sound, along with fully reclining seating and double daybeds, creating a high-quality, flexible cinema environment for films, live sport, and event screenings.

Cinema projects present a unique delivery challenge, requiring close coordination between structure, acoustics, specialist audiovisual systems, seating, finishes, lighting, and fire and life safety systems, while also integrating seamlessly with the landlord’s base build works and wider development programme.

The complex was designed to offer a range of seating options across all cinemas, from standard seating through to full recliners and double daybeds.

Working with 4WoRK, PJM provided lead project management services and was responsible for overall project delivery, including coordination with the developer and landlord works, design management, procurement, budget and cost control, programme management, consenting, and construction observation.
